Edge VA is back in class!
September 29, 2009
Last week I revealed that I have commenced some exciting training with Hot Skills VA Training in the Ecommerce VA Training program. Tomorrow is our fourth session, and I am really looking forward to learning more!
On the first day, Cindy challenged us to develop and use our marketing mindset. From the feedback that she’s received, she knows that business owners want a VA that can anticipate their needs, think ahead and be someone to depend upon to get “it” done. The difference between a VA that applies the marketing mindset to all parts of his or her practice and one that waits for instruction from his or her clients (similar to an employee) is undoubtedly the proactive VA will be more successful, with more satisfied clients.
One of the examples she made in the third class of applying our marketing mindset was for shopping cart set-up. We are working through and learning all aspects of 1ShoppingCart, which is a multi-purpose Ecommerce and Email Marketing tool.
Because 1ShoppingCart is so popular, there are many providers that can assist business owners who need shopping carts set up for their online needs. Cindy pointed out that as VAs, we can add value by taking the time and effort to customize the shopping cart with colors, logos, and even background images to match the client’s image and more importantly, make the buying experience fantastic for their customers.

So, in addition to the Ecommerce training, I have also started another exciting program: Virtual Event Specialist Certification program through VAClassroom. This program is an intense 4-week program, with daily lectures, one weekly group chat and weekly interactive and challenging assignments. I am so excited to be a part of this training!
Once I achieve the certification, I will be officially launching my niche services (brand new speciality service offerings) as a Virtual Event Specialist – so stay tuned and watch for updates!
It’s been a hectic week (and it’s only Tuesday) but definitely worth the effort. I will be posting as I progress through the training programs, with comments on some of the most interesting or pertinent parts of the training that apply to my VA business and my clients.
Have a fantastic week!
